The use of acid-sensitive pigments will cause color changes.
When alkaline fillers such as calcium carbonate are used, the acidic release agent will react with it and increase the viscosity of the mixture, but it will not affect the release effect.
If the filler is aluminum hydroxide, the acid release agent will not only increase the viscosity of the mixture but also solidify the water during the mixing process, causing problems such as bubbles and cracks.
Generally, the initial dosage of the internal release agent is 1% of the resin content, and the effective addition range is 0.75-2% of the resin weight. Make appropriate adjustments according to the actual situation.
For thin-walled simple profiles, the amount can be appropriately reduced, such as below 0.8%.
Thick-walled or complex-shaped profiles need to be added more.
In high-filler systems, the number of internal release agents should be increased, but too many internal release agents will delay curing.
In the pultrusion production, if the resistance is too large and the cause cannot be found, the amount of release agent should be appropriately increased. Pay attention to the feeding sequence during use. Before adding the curing agent, filler, and other resin additives, the internal release agent should be added to the resin system and mixed evenly. In this way, the best demoulding effect can be achieved.
