TOS vs. TNG

Yeah...I'm just going to put it RIGHT out there. Which series is better? State your choice and reasons if you wish...

I'm going to start this off with my vote for: The Original Series!

Okay, so yeah...I came into the Star Trek game super late and only because my fiancee introduced me, and I started out with TNG. I loved it, still love it, and never thought another Star Trek could be better. Then, when I ran out of TNG episodes, we turned to TOS and just wow. There is some sort of magic those episodes have that TNG just does not. I'll also add that I definitely care more for the space exploration and encounters with aliens who plan to deceive and destroy you..than I care for episodes about people's mom's going crazy, or the holodeck trying to kill everyone, or Wesley going through puberty. In hindsight the amount of drama in TNG is a little off putting.

Really, there are several Star Trek series that I love and that isn't even counting some of the great movies that are out there. When it comes down to TNG vs TOS though, I have to give it to TOS. I completely agree with how there is something, some x-factor that TOS just has. I can't explain it.

I could also give for a little less 'space drama' than what TNG has to offer. That being said I still love Picard and his entire crew.

TOS hands down. It's rare imo when a sequel or spin-off beats the original, so it's not really a surprise.

It just was more about the adventure and ass-kicking. Almost like a constant Errol Flynn-esque adventure film all the time. Kirk fucking owns it. And his crew? All badasses.

I also love how Kirk is such a ladies man and sometimes uses Spock as his wingman,...who just basically sits there and pretends to agree with everything Kirk says for the ladies.
