In the past ten years or so, this situation has changed a lot. If you are considering installing or installing an outdoor deck, there are some very important factors to consider. Years ago, when I built my first deck, my view changed a lot. At that time, the general consensus is that wood is king.
You just can't beat the texture, smell, warm the real wood. This is still true to some extent, but not so much. Composite materials do not have a good reputation, especially in terms of cost, durability and appearance. Most of us think "it just doesn't look good" or "it's cheap."". Now, I have to admit that if you use your common sense to look at the facts, the composite decorative material will win every choice of material.
Sometimes it's hard to give up the tradition, but you have to adapt to a better way when it is indeed better, not "new things" to. There are some undeniable negative aspects of using wood for these types of projects. Wood must be protected in the same way or another, especially when exposed to elements.
